Totally blown away by this move. I have mentioned that he would be a better candidate for this but he would want to stay in Carolina. With this front loaded deal,,, I would have to say no he doesn’t. But do the canes match? Will they put out that kind of cash?

It's mostly a cash flow problem for the Canes! The owner might be a billionaire in asset... but does he have the cashflow to dish out another 21M in a venture that already makes him loose money!

Buddy you are drinking the koolaid they want you to. This is the most pathetic Offersheet attempt in the history of the NHL. The canes will match, and laugh after 7 days.
Not only does Dundon have the money, he has a brain.
This was a PR move after losing Tavares last year and Duchene this year. I am a Habs season ticket holder and they sent me emails trying to get me to upgrade my seats this week.
You think they want fans asking why they cannot upgrade the #1C position? This is just a "here look we tried".
    Embarrassing honestly

Im not saying the Habs will get Aho. Chances are very slim. However, if Tom Dundon really had a brain, he wouldn't have lowball him. (with low AVV AND Long-term deal) I mean.... he even went as far as to say that Aho is the untouchable of the organization.....yet he wasn't willing to offer Aho a fair deal until that offer sheet even though Matthews's contract has already given ideas on the amounts and terms teams should sign their RFAs.

I agree there. But this is actually more helpful to other teams because it sets the bar so low lol

At the same time... CAR were lowballing the crap out of Aho. Something north of 6M... while Aho wants 9.5M

The odds are that they will match... but if they don't... it will be the biggest steal in the last 10 years.

So Habs trade an actual NHL player PLUS a 2nd rounder for a can of hope? In other words, an NHL bust?

Oilers would be lucky to get just a 2nd round pick for poolparty let alone an Armia as well.

Might not be able to sign armia afterwards... but true.
