After everything with the Aho offer sheet, I think Bergevin set the market for the RFA's this year and Marner will be paid under 10M.

That deal walks him into UFA , he signs that all day everyday

And then he remember that makes Matthews 11.6m/year and he wants the same money

So that argument is irrelevant,always has been and always will be. Are you still buying the dollars the media are feeding, Panarin getting 14 but got 11.6 , Aho getting 9/10 but signing for 8.4. same media that said Matthews would not take less than 13 but signed for 11.6

That's his only chip and he won't get it. Marner won't get an offer sheet because no one is going to pay that for a winger. If he decides to hold out on his services, that only hurts his stock even more. Also the term is a bigger issue than the money. I'm not worried.

I don't care about the media Marner is better than Matthews and he deserve around the same amount of money Leafs are just too cheap to give him a reasonable offer
