I would love Tuch but I don't think Vegas even thinks about that trade.

yeah, not really sure what to offer there. Probably not getting him. Just trying to brainstorm Top 6 forwards, ideally someone who can slot in next to MacK/Rants

Kaut and a 3rd might get it done. That contract for Tuch looks really good right now, even more so if he starts putting up 60+ a year.

I would rather have the sure thing at 4.75 for 7 more years than a prospect that projects to that who will probably never have that kind of contract if he becomes a 50 point player.

im not 100% sold on tuch as a constant 50 point guy. He did jump up 3% in shooting from the year before and gets heavy heavy O-Zone starts. Its a gamble that you are banking on this is who he is.
Also I am not sure of tuchs defensively ability, is he a 2 way guy? We know that Kaut is solid defensively, so if his points done translate in that 55 point range you are sitll going to get a solid part of his game night in and night out ont he defensive side

as I said to Moli im not 100% convinced that this is who Tuch is for 6 more years on a contract. Hes not going to fall off the map or anything but is he more of a 40-45pt guy vs a 50-55pt guy if hes not getting those heavy ozone starts and high shooting% that he did last year.

I mean he shot 11.1%, not like he shot 20% or something ridiculous like that. I think 20-30-50 is something you could count on from Tuch over the entire length of that contract and he's only 23 so there is still room for growth. And he had over a 53.5 Corsi For % so I would rely on him to drive play out of his own zone and keep it in the offensive zone (I don't know who he normally played with in Vegas so that might have something to do with that high number but I still really like him).

Thats a big "if". I admit Tuch wont be winning any selke trophies, but thats not his role. He is great offensively - he was 60th in the entire league in even strength points (in only 74 games) and only gets 16:44 of ice time per game on average. With a top 6 role in COL with PP2 time (on a much better PP unit than Vegas had) I think 55-65 points is a reasonable expectation. That said, If Kaut becomes a two way 55 point player then he would be more valueable (especially with his ELC), but in terms of value I think Tuch is worth more because of Kauts uncertainty
