Would you take Hudon instead of Evans? If yes I’d do the deal if I were Montreal.

Why stop there? Maybe they can do it for Andrei Bashkirov and a used handkerchief from Jean Beliveau.

Moral of the story, Evans, 2nd and a 5th is already highway robbery. Don't push it any further.

I wouldn't call it highway robbery. That's market value for him.

He only put up 26 points last year, that's similar to the production we got from Jordie Benn. I don't think Leddy is the guy we want to or need at this point.

Sure, doesn't matter to me. I think we need some forward depth in Bridgeport, so if Hudon can pass through waivers I'd be in on him.

Highway robbery? Come on, man. Leddy's a damn good player.

I think he mean's for the Habs. Evans projects as a bottom 6 player right now, and Hudon is a 4th line player at best.

So i guess Benn = Leddy now? Am I missing something? Provorov had 26 points. Parayko had 28. CODY CECI had 26 too. I guess the Ceci trade is what Philly can expect for Provorov?

That is not market value in the slightest. Correlating points that directly is as narrow minded as saying " hey, Benn is a lefty and Leddy is also left handed so they must be equal in value."

Evans is not stud prospect. He's proven he's prolly better than a 7th round pick but that doesn't mean that much. A 2nd a 5th is not much in the grand scheme of things when your getting a top 4 dman back in return.

If you looking at the Miller trade as reference, i think you need to relook at who had all the negotiating power in that deal and then also compare Miller's career stats to Leddy's.

Haha Im was being sarcastic. That shouldn't even be enough to get Leddy in the first place.

No you can't compare Ceci and Provorov. Ceci can't play defense to save his life wheras that's Benn's primary skill set. Nick Leddy isn't what we want. We need someone who can play opposite Weber (which means someone who can create offense). Leddy isn't that guy. You can argue all you want whether this trade is worth it or not, but he doesn't fit in Montreal unless we plan on playing him on the 2nd pairing.

Leddy's being moved for more for cap space than the value he gets in a trade, so undervalue with valuable assets is still fair to the Islanders I would think. It depends on other moves being made.

Holy sweet mama jeebus. I think I'm having an aneurysm from this post...........

I can't tell if you are trolling me or you are serious. At this point I kind of just want to continue the crack pipe dream that has been this conversation so i can at least get some satisfaction out of it.

-Cody Ceci is a stud offensive dman.
-Benn has the skills to be a top 6 forward.
-Leddy's GAA this year has been bad but he still managed 6 shutouts which is decent.
-Up is down.
-Cats and dogs living together.

Now ladies and gentleman.....we wait.

Moving Leddy simply for cap space, opens up a new can of worms as it creates another hole in the lineup. Leddy is a league renown top 4 dman. Top 4 dman aren't cheap to acquire. A B prospect and a 2nd and 5th isn't going to cut it. Im a Habs fans BTW if it wasn't already obvious. I WANT THE HABS TO FLEECE THE ISLES IN THIS TRADE.

Don’t let the Leddy point total fool you. He isn’t a great producer in the trotz system. He can put up more points

A hole in the Islanders lineup? Not really. Leddy is replaced internally by our Sebastian Aho. Kid can play a bottom pairing role while Devon Toews takes his spot in the top-4.

Ah right. The 22 year old whose never played more than 18 mins on average in a season is just going to waltz right in and 22+. ...

Until he actually does it, yeah, its a hole in the lineup. Or can you just get rid of Anders Lee because you have Dal Colle ready to play?

I misspoke. Toews is replacing Leddy, Aho is replacing Toews.

Not really if you've seen Toews play.
