That's a lot to give up from the Jets perspective. I think Roslovic for Risto straight up would be fair. Not sure Jets would want to get rid of Roslovic though.

If you think you can get value for Perreault can remove him from the trade and you can flip him for a pick.

It's a tough one with Perrault, He is a guy who can play any position and on any line at 4 mil. I would think that his contract would be attractive to most team and his value to the Jets is high as well.

That is a high cap hit for aging player who can only get you 30 points at best. The jets just cant afford him especially when you can get Pominville and Vanek together at half the cost and both can produce at the same rate.

I think this is a solid trade for both teams.

Okay, so how are we breaking this out? Risto for Roslovic and the Perrault and a 2nd for a 5th? This seems fair?

The only reason i ask is I think the Jets could sign a guy like Gardiner for about 6 x 6. IMO him and Risto are about the same in skill. This way they could keep Roslovic and probably get at minimum a 3rd for Perrault if that was the way they wanted to go.

I’ve not fallen in love with Roslovics game. The jets have been in the same position Buffalo is in (trash at 2C) and JR has not been able to make that step, even stepping between elite wingers (2 of Laine, Connor, Ehlers, and Wheeler). Why should I think he succeeds in BUF?

That being said if the rubber hits the road I would accept this trade, with the added condition that if the Jets make the playoffs and Risto gets 40pts, the 2 turns into a 1st.

Yeah, maybe a sweetener along with Roslovic. Perreault is still pretty servicable, he's just a little overpaid, so that's a reasonable deal.

It would have to be if jets make it to conference finals. They will make playoffs

The problem with Roslovic is that while I am a big fan and I think he could come in and compete with Mittelstadt, the Sabres are in need of a more proven guy, and this is why I wonder if a Ristolainen deal will happen, because who the **** is going to give a proven second line center for Rasmus Ristolainen....I don’t see a partner right now for that.

If they are looking to move Ristolainen for a guy with Potential, then Roslovic would probably be the centerpiece, BUT, the problem with him for me is the 109 NHL games and only 39 points to show for it. Granted it’s on Winnipeg and it’s tough to get the minutes on a great team. But For me to do a deal for Roslovic, I would need more coming back and probably a number one pick, which may not happen, in that case, I’d rather keep Ristolainen and head into next season with one of the most offensively productive blue lines in the league and wait until the trade deadline when Dallas or maybe even Colorado who may miss Barrie May look for right handed defense to shore up their teams for a run.

Roslovic hasn't failed in WPG, he still hasn't gotten a real shot. He played about 700 minutes of 5v5 time last year: 212 min w/ Laine (about 20 games of Laine-Little-Roslovic) and less than 100 minutes with any of Connor, Ehlers, and Wheeler.
