3-way Trade Bertuzzi for Gusev Gusev for Point

Created by: CJBear71
Team: 2019-20 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2019
Published: Jul. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I believe Vegas will only trade Gusev if they are going to get a 2nd/3rd winger back that makes them better. This option allows them to do that, gets Gusev to a great team with Kucherov, and gets Detroit a great young player.

This is about the trade possibility - not the actual contracts for Gusev / Point and lineups for Detroit.

no and no. Vegas says no, Tampa already had him, and they got rid of him for reason so they say no. Especially for Point.

I'm a fan of Vegas too, and I think they might. Tampa had Gusev but didn't know when they could bring him over and it was the price they paid for VGK to take Garrison. And it's a new GM in TBL. Who knows.

Detroit isn't at the stage of their rebuild where they could make a trade like that. You are giving up a good young player with a coveted skill set that only few players in the league any more like Tom Wilson. Then you are trading away 4 draft picks for 1 player yes he is a very good player but one player isn't going to get you a cup. If that was possible Edmonton would have a couple more cups and McDavid would have a fist full of rings.

No the Defense needs to be overhauled, and that's not happening without Green, Ericsson, and Daley all leaving after their contracts are up or if anything can be gotten for them at the deadline.

Why does Vegas say no here?

Bertuzzi is cheap, an RFA, and a 20g scorer

If Vegas ends up having to move Gusev, this would be the trade over picks/prosepects

There's no question that Goose in TBay makes a ton of sense....a few of us have been talking about that for several weeks now. However TBay's not moving Point to do it so a cap issue becomes the stumbling block. But if there was a trade to be had, I wonder if Gusev and Cal Foote couldn't be the two primary's (figure out the balance with picks etc). (no need to involve a third party like Detroit)

Side note...nobody wishes for an injury to anyone, but was Callahan's misfortune not the luckiest thing in the world for Tampa?

Yeah if Callahan didn’t get hurt it would be more likely a deal like this gets done because the cap pressure would almost be the same as Vegas’ right now.

Cal Foote looks like a good defenseman prospect, but I I think VGK has a good chunk in the pipeline. And not sure how you could sign Gusev & Point. But a good forward prospect might make it work, but then VGK would want a pick on top of it.

Gusev is way better than Bertuzzi, the fourth doesn't make up for it.

im all for getting gus in Detroit and if steve really thinks hes a 35 goal guy then as much as I like bert you make the deal. Its trading one forward for a forward and doesn't derail the rebuild. The point move is a one of those that as much as we'd love to see the player here does it make sense to move all the assets. If the blue line wasnt suchn a mess id say go for it but we are 2 years away from competing id say, so save the assets.

laugh laugh Is this a joke? Tyler Bertuzzi alone has more value then Gusev, And you honestly think that Gusev+2020 1st round pick+2020 2nd round pick+2021 3rd round pick gets you Brayden Point. This is purely laugh No way in hell would Yzerman ever do this. Detroit can't afford to move their 2020 1st round pick in the deepest draft in recent memory. Detroit probably still is a bottom 6 team no way we're moving that pick.

Gotta think Vegas is looking strictly for assets here and non roster players, they have no cap to bring on anyone.

To bring back Bertuzzi, all they have to do is waive Holden.
