Pionk was eligible for arbitration. He might come in right around $3 mil, but not much more.

Pionk was an NCAA UFA. Different in terms of contract schedule.

For the Rangers? You might be higher on Buch than I am. I don't think he's going to develop much beyond what he is right now, which is a 40-50 pt winger who doesn't give you much value away from the puck or in the locker room. He's going to be passed on the depth chart by Kakko & Kravtsov soon. I like the idea of keeping Kreider, Names & Strome at wing and hoping they can bring in more value at the trade deadline than getting no return for them now in a cap dump trade.

He literally looks exactly the same as LIndholm did before he got out of Carolina...

I agree. Just trying to think of a creative way out of the Rangers' cap situation without any buyouts. Hopefully Gorton can think of something better.

could be one of the worst trades I've seen. not trying to be rude, but you're giving a good 2nd line wing away for nothing.
