You'd be better off trading Laine than giving him that much on a short term deal

That Wheeler contract looks like a Neal/Backes part II. That is killing you guys up there in the Peg.

Wheeler has had 91 points in each of the last 2 years. Let’s wait until he falls off a cliff production wise to compare that contract to Neal/Backes.

Oh, I agree with you that he's still a stud. So too were Backes and Neal at one time. In about three years, those last two years are going to be painful though.

Yeah he’s probably gonna decline, hopefully the new TV deal can help us out on that

I hope it helps everyone out, frankly. Hockey needs the deal to be a good one. Awesome game that is definitely growing leaps and bounds in St. Louis. Heck, look how many players have come from St. Louis lately. I hope you're right.

I honestly think it’s time to split Scheifele and wheeler up. If we want roslovic or copp to make the jump to 2c, we’re gonna need them to play with Connor and Wheeler, they’re gonna need more responsible wingers to handle that role. I also think Scheifele can carry that ehlers and laine line. Also, I don’t think smith pellet is needed imo. We can slot Appleton into that 4th line role and be good to go. I honestly see the Perreault trade happening, maybe not that exact one. I also believe that we might see a Kulikov buyout as well. It’s a lot less likely than the perreault trade but is possible. I think that id rather just play Beaulieu over del zotto. It’s time for jets to let some young guys up into the lineup, Vesalainen, Appleton, niku and Poolman. They may decline a little this year but it will help us long term.
