What would be a good move to escape cap issues and improve the defense in your opinion?

I believe that eventually one of the big 4 wingers (26,27,29 or 81) will have to be moved. Its not going to be Wheeler, it shouldn't be Ehlers and Connor will be at least somewhat affordable so... IMO the best return would be Laine but he is a difficult player to give up his ceiling is very high. I have posted previously a Laine plus to FLA for Ekblad and Borgstrom type of deal with other pieces included. Provorov and Konecny might be good targets from Philly.
I actually think this Dcorps will surprise. They are all fantastically good skaters and very smart players. It really all depends on if Niku and Poolman can have a positive impact.

I wouldn't trade the top 6 winger on the value contract to escape the cap issues... I would bridge both Connor and Laine before moving an Ehlers.

Here’s the issue as a Rangers fan... NYR are in a cap bind. As of now, NYR are struggling to be able to fit CK at $6.5-$7M long term and they wouldn’t HAVE to trade assets. Also, this year it’d help NYR playoff wise and all, but still don’t have a 2C right now but maybe it’d help Chytil or Howden make that jump. Trading away ADA though, I feel like KSHAT was bought out to make room for Ada in the lineup this season. Who would play RHD besides Trouba and Fox?

I'm not joking at all, he's not the leader everyone thinks he is. Why do you think there were so many unhappy Jets this past season? Guess it was okay for Blake Wheeler to tell one of the local Jets beat writers to eff off cause he's the captain and such a great leader, can you imagine the reaction if Laine told someone in the local media to eff off?

To my understanding, the dressing room quarrels were directed at some (one) players not seemingly giving their best effort (29) and perhaps some overly inflated millennial egos taking exception to being called out for it or not handed top line opportunities. It was not the whole dressing room against Blake Wheeler. Biggie is a passionate guy! Winnipeg hockey media can be ... challenging! Dude proly deserved it.

From the inside stories I've heard, he's not very liked, he's ruined Scheiffele and he runs the show and Maurice caters to him to keep the captain on his side to keep his job safe.

I can't believe how oblivious ownership and management is to the problems.

Obviously you missed it, no the media member that Wheeler told to eff off didn't deserve it.

Sorry but you sound like so many who lap up the the Jets kool-aid that's served to you by TNSE and the local media mostly at TSN in Winnipeg who never question a thing Maurice or Chevy do.

That's not fair. Neither one of us have any idea what went on in that dressing room. If you say you do, you are either lying or you were a member of the team. TNSE says absolutely nothing! Ever! I gaurantee they are not oblivious to anything!

I think the story I believe is far more realistic then any of these fabricated conspiracy theories some fans come up with (like the whole team hates Wheeler).

You also have no idea what I think of Maurice or Chevy. I am as frustrated as any Jets fan with the way the team played last year and hope to see some dramatic improvements this year or I will gladly join the chorus of demands for change.

And how in the world did "Wheeler ruin Scheifele"??

I think you are the one who is perhaps drinking something that is impairing your judgement.

Do you live in Winnipeg?
