His tweet offers no details about what a deal would look like, so this is pure speculation about what just a Marner for Boeser trade could be and explicitly NOT about what either of their contracts would be. (Nucks would have some serious work to do in order to sign Marner tho)

First off, don't believe everything you read on Twitter, especially not from random schmucks.

Second, that is not even in the realm of being a fair deal for Vancouver. That looks closer to a trade proposal for McDavid.

Not sure he's on the level of "random schmuck", he's been around for quite a while and fwiw both Bobby Margarita and Friedge follow him. Not saying his word is prophecy, but he's more of a somebody in hockey media than whoever started that dumb Islanders rumor today.

Also, what in particular would you change about the deal? I thought it might have been too pick heavy, but curious to know what you think.

He may have been around a while, but most of what he posts is clickbait trash with no substance.

Also if the Leafs are getting Boeser AND Woo, you can forget the 1sts. Honestly I don't even know if I would do Boeser, Woo and a 2nd, but that's probably what a deal would look like.

Boeser is a more talented goal scorer, and has had way more impressive production in his 1st two seasons compared to what Marner did pre Tavares. I'm not convinced that the cost would worth it for such a marginal upgrade.
Ccc liked this.

If Boeser can get stable and healthy he’s probably better than Marner IMO, they’ve already said it but that’s too much to give up for marner I’d say offer sheet instead of this if that was the option. Plus Woo is a valuable asset on his own.

There is absolutely no way that Boeser is a better player than Marner. Marner finished in top 10 in NHL in points and had impressive 5 on 5 stats and can kill penalities. Boeser is a one dimentional goal scorer that has no concept of back checking and playing defence. If Canucks want Marner they would need to offer up Petterson or Horvat plus another quality player and pick.

I didn’t say he was. I said he’s probably better. Probably. Injuries have really hurt the start of his career. And I would not trade Pettersson for Marner lmfao. Let alone Pettersson + . That’s a hugely delusional view seeing as you’re a leafs fan with a clear bias for marner if you see Elias so poorly as I’m a fan of neither team and root against the canucks. Again I personally would keep Pettersson but if you said Pettersson + assets is “maybe” fair or whatever that’s a big LOL

Nice that the Canucks have about 6m to sign Marner.
