So, I'm curious, why is everyone trading Ho-Sang, who still has potential to be a Top 6 winger, for a guy who is on the wrong side of 30, hasn't stayed healthy the past 2 seasons (looking at games played) and has barely cracked 30 points the past 2 seasons?? Admittedly, I don't know much about Frolik, but this seems like the wrong trade to use Ho-Sang in to me.

Your right, I think he can still be a top 6 winger, but his relationship w the isles sucks and everyone knows that. Isles screwed his development and Ho-Sang is loud ab it. He also has attitude problems. If he becomes a top 6 winger it won’t be as an islander and everyone knows that.

I understand that, but he still has value and upside. He should only be traded as part of a package for a Top 6 forward or for a prospect in a similar situation. My question was more about Frolik and why everyone on here seems to have a hard on for this guy that they are trading Ho-Sang for him... I don't get it.

Frolik would be a decent stop gap until Wahlstrom comes and plays next year. Calgary could use a youg guy w a bit of upside. It's a good fit imo

Frolik is a great 2-way player that can play left or right up and down the line up (super versatile) his issue is hes about 750k over paid for what he provides. Hes also strong on the PK. He would be a strong addition to any team trying to sure up their middle 6.

Ah, thank you! This is what I was looking for and kind of explains why everyone is trading for him. Kinda makes more sense now, though I still think Ho-Sang in addition to Hickey is an overpayment for that type of player.

Before the Valimaki injury there was still discussion of Ho-Sang and a mid pick for Frolik. Personally i would rather do tbis as a Flames fan. When Valimaki was injured (most of) last year kylington stepped in and played perfectly fine, he just needs to work on his defensive game. This would allow us to trade brodie for a top 6 C/RW (maybe a 3rd pair RD as well) and go after someone like Girardi to pair with Kylington.

I understand what you're saying, I just think a lot of people on here are under valuing both Hickey and Ho-Sang. Hickey, while not a stud, is a solid 3rd pairing Defenseman, possible 2nd pairing on a weaker D team. He was one of our better Defenseman before he got hurt and only lost his spot because of how well Toews played when he came up. Ho-Sang has talent and potential, he just hasn't been given an opportunity here due to some behavioral issues. Too, in my opinion, throw these guys away for another 3rd liner (we have enough of those) doesn't seem like the smart move.
