Not nearly enough for Mantha and Preds likely won't trade Tolvanen without a Kreider extension

Where's the value for Mantha?

You have a good but not as good winger.

A guy who's cap hit is high enough that he has about 0 value. Neither positive nor negative.

And two essentially negligible pieces.

Add a first

It’s not overvaluing kreider when it’s at the deadline and the jets traded a 1st and lemiux for Kevin Hayes... that guy sucks

I will say Buch and Mantha are very close in value but I don't think there is enough upside from the other pieces for DET to make the move. They really like Mantha a ton.

For sure.. I thought I heard tho that they wanted to trade him like last season. I also added Georgiev in there to help there goalie struggles

He's an RFA with control. Not the same thing by any means. Buchnevich is ok but not the same caliber player. It's a significant step down for DET. Namestnikov is a UFA who hasn't performed well since being on a line with Stamkos. Quantity does not equal quality

The only reason namestnikov is in this trade is just as a depth player for them. Buch is good and still young as well. Georgiev has potential to be the next starter. Lingren is a tough nose defensemen likely to be a 3rd pairing dman. Plus there’s a 3rd rounder in there

Nah. Some moron fans and moron front office people were disappointed with his career early on even though it was derailed by a broken leg. In terms of aggregate WAR over the last 3 seasons he has been DETs best forward.

Namestnikov makes sense if DET was looking for another NHL body up front. (Yzerman drafted him and Nam spent time in DET locker room growing up, as he is the nephew of Slava Kozlov). However they don't need more bodies up front after the Filppula signing.

Dude he's still a RFA though? Still has like 3 years left until he's a UFA Yzerman will sign him to a long term extension in the next few months. Your deal here is nowhere close enough for Mantha.

I agree with that!

I doubt Detroit makes any big trades before the TDL, but if you want Mantha you are going to have to give something you don't want to loose. These are roughly the same players you have offered to every other team for one of their best players with the about the same results as you are getting here.

Potentially elite prospects have way more value than a late first. Remember how Vegas got Mark Stone with an extension for Branstrom? I'd argue that Tolvanen's value isn't much lower than Branstrom's, and Mark Stone with an extension is way, way, way more valuable than Krieder. You can easily get a 1st and a low level prospect for Krieder at the deadline, a very high end prospect, probably not

I agree with u but I think they would extend kreider and I feel as tho kreider would want to be on a contender like nash

For a good- but not as good winger...you are getting the other pieces to make up the difference....To discount Namest as "worthless" and Georgiev and Lindgren as negligible pieces is just not fair....You are correct that in the cap frozen market right now- Names' value (mainly because other teams see NYR need to clear cap space) is diminished...but once the cap issues are all resolved and the season starts, injuries occur, etc- the market will open back up and his value will come back to reality because the guy still can contribute on the ice. As for Lindgren - he's probably worth a 3rd, and Georgiev- maybe a 4th...and if he can build on his small sample size- his value will go up accordingly...so part of what Detroit is getting back in this deal is the speculation that Buch and Georgiev will continue to trend up and break out....now I get that speculation is not a great thing to hang too much value on in a trade- but if you want to talk about either retaining money on Names or replacing Lindgren with a D prospect with a higher ceiling- that is reasonable....but throwing in a 1st on top of this package isn't happening....If you want the 1st- take Buch out of the return (wouldn't think that would appeal to you)
