Description
Habs line-up projection for the first few games. The first and third line had a pretty good chemistry last season, so i wouldn't touch those lines. However, if Poelhing is struggling, and KK is doing well, i would have KK step up on the second line. I dont want Poelhing to be a 4th line center. He's got to have ice time, or else I would send him down to Laval. If KK and Poelhing are not performing well, i would either put Armia/Lekhonen/Byron (the performing one) on the second line and put Domi back to center.

The defense right-end side is strong but the left side not soo much. Unlike most of the other posts, i dont want anything to do with Gardiner long term. If he really wants to play here, fine but for 1 year and 5-6M. I doubt he wants that but i would offer him anything more than that. He can bring offense but he's a liability in defense and we dont want another bad defense contract (see Alzner). Any other propositions?

I love Kincaid as a backup for Price and there's no more place for Lindgren. He got the chance to be the number 2 but he didnt prove that he was ready to be the men for the job. Plus, there's McNiven and Primeau that would seperate the task in Laval. They both need the icetime, you dont want 3 goalies in the AHL.

just misses playoffs imo

once Kotkaniemi is #1C and Caufield is getting 40+ goals a year this team will be a serious contender—question is can Weber and Price still be good by then

I feel like a Domi-Poehling-Drouin line would be extremely productive. Poehling is a finisher, exactly what the two guys need. I just don't know how comfortable Drouin is at RW. Certainly worth a try.

Drouin had a season of 53 pts as a RW with Tampa at 19y/0.

Do you think Juulsen can get a spot in that lineup? In my opinion, I think yes. I would like to see :

Chiarot Weber
Mete Petry
Reilly Juulsen

Kulak Folin

Chiarot did a great job with Byfuglien, why not with Weber? Mete was better when he played with Petry and Reilly Juulsen were tremendously good together last year during the first 20 games. When Juulsen got hurt, Reilly started to play badly. Then I love Hudon, but I prefer to keep my 8 D in MTL and put Hudon on the waivers. We will see what happen with him. If he is claimed, we have Weise, Peca, Varone, Barber, Suzuki, Evans, McCarron that can play some minutes.

Also, with Juulsen in the NHL, you have Ouellet Olofsson Brook Fleury Alzner Leskinen and Slenicka to Laval (solid top 7).

I would really like drouin to be a 60+ guys. If he was playing with Gallagher's intensity he sure would!

Being out of the lineup a long time due to an eye injury last year and due to the fact that he has a two way contract, he's gonna start in the AHL. I think he's gonna get to level he's once been and his gonna get called up really quick.

I think the pair Weber-Mete did great last year and i dont think its a good idea having two guys (mete-Petry) who love going offence on the same pair. Chiarot could get big PK minutes with Weber tho. But i could see Mete getting less minutes on a second pair to have less pressure to play against the best line.

I didnt want to wave Hudon because i think he's gonna be claimed by another team. I would like him to have a chance to proove himself on a good line.

I'd like to see Drouin get more than 60 pts tho and I think he could do this kind of season if he plays RW with Domi and Poehling. He is more creative when he enters the right wing because he has more options and he is facing the game. He can cuts in the middle and feed Domi on the left side (a bit like what Kucherov is able to do). I agree with you on Hudon, Juulsen. It will all depends what they bring to the team during training camp.
