Bogosian

Created by: UpsideDownQue
Team: 2019-20 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 15, 2019
Published: Aug. 15, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Basically swapping LHD for RHD but adding a late round pick since Bogosian > Barberio

This gives the Avs an extra body on RHD and would also help early in the season if EJ isnt ready for the first couple games. BUF saves just over $1M in cap space and gets rid of one of their extra RHDs

Bogosian has been plagued with a bad rep for a very long time, lack of accountability etc with him . A guy as injured as he has been through his whole career, after as many surgeries as he has had, its more likely he doesnt recovery and find a new lease on his hockey life. Hes on borrowed time in this league, I dont see him getting a contract unless its for league min scraps after he is done. He hasnt been healhty in a decade

Bogosian cant score, he has 5 goals in the last 3 seasons....come on man, take off the sabres homer glasses for once

So let's agree to disagree, if you want to continue that is fine, but I would rather just close with out getting into a street fight.

I wouldn't say he has homer glasses. He is visibly better than most of the DMen that have played for us recently. No sabres fan really wants bogosian but its more of a combination of Health/Contract/Other Players theyve acquired than it is that hes bad.

And in what world would a team with a vastily deeper and more talented d roster want a guy who is plagued with a bad contract health issues Just to sit in the press box.

The fact he was trying to say he brings goal scoring ability is 100% homer glass. Also the argument he’s not bad just that other bad dman around him make him look bad. I. Reality good dman can still look good despite their partner, he’s a by product of his partners ability based on all these counter points, so who in their right mind wants a dman who is plagued in injury and brings little impact that to get any sort of value you have to staple him next to your best available partners

I never said anything about the trade being fair or anyone wanting him. Idk what you're trying to argue about tbh, nobody cares if he plays for Buffalo or for any other team, he has 1 year left on his contract. I was merely saying he plays with DMen way worse than him... because he does.

Im saying in that is a flawed way of trying to justify a players ability....he has looked bad bc he played with partners. Then hes not a good dman regardless. Example Tyson barrie played with partners like Nick Holden and Nate Guenin for 2.5 seasons under Roy, almost exclusivity yet he still produced and was very effective with having some boat anchors of partners.

Bogo is a very mediocre Dman when healthy, which he never is, hes not good enough to hold his own. I just dont buy that argument that hes good. So he looked good at times on a bad dcore? Doesnt that mean hes just one of the better bad dmen? Hes still bad if thats the case

There is also the fact Bogosian has been playing in Buffa-finish-lo(w) tbf to him. Not that I'm overly in favour of the trade, just saying!

Yes that's exactly what we are all saying. He's not good but he's better than what many teams have. Teams trade for guys like him more than you think.

Teams trade for guys like that but on ice hockey ability isn’t the driving force.

But don’t try to give the impression like he’s a legit top 4 dmen and “goal scoring” like the other Sabre fan was trying to do. He may be fine on bad or mediocre teams but on good teams he’s in the press box 9 out of 10 nights

I can't control what other sabres fans say on capfriendly.com but it's not that serious.
