I did it, but I also gave him a bridge deal to prove he can score consistently, and said I'd backload it to guarentee he gets 10+ in his next contract, assuming they qualify him, but aside from scoring goals, he doesn't do anything else, and even then he scores extremely inconsistently

People give him that on a bridge deal. Yes goal scoring comes at a premium, but Laine has major holes in his game that no other nhl players have. When he isn’t scoring goals he isn’t an nhl player. That’s why a bridge of 2x7 or 3x7.5 is adequate. If it’s long term, 8x9.5-10m

Laine should get a bridge deal IMO. He regressed last year (And I know he scored 30 goals) but his inconsistency and poor defence is a serious liability. I don't know if I'd pay 10 for that. Hell JVR gets paid 7 million and IMO would rather have him since at least he's proven consistent.
