Contenders and Sergachev

Created by: AndrewLadd
Team: 2020-21 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 26, 2019
Published: Aug. 26, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa has 2 Top 4 LHD that they committed long term to already. With their cap crunch and Sergachev needing a new deal I could see them dealing him. The isles should jump right on this. I think he’d be a perfect partner for Pulock. I took the Aho (Carolina) route and gave Barzal a 5 year contract, it just seems more realistic to me. All trades happen after the 2019-20 season except Hickey who will probably be waived in 2018-19. The point of signing Radil is that he can rotate in and out of the lineup w Matt Martin while Fritz can to the same w Clutter.

In this trade Tampa gets a 1st, a solid forward prospect a decent defensive prospect and a cheap fringe 2nd pairing dman whos big and great defensively.

  1. Leddy, Nick
Additional Details:
Leddy gives them a dman after they lose Brodie and Hamonic. Could be any other team that needs a 2nd pairing LHD.

  1. Aho, Sebastian [RFA Rights]
  2. Ho-Sang, Joshua [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
There’s no room for either of these young players, so I’m trading them to a team that could use some young bodies. Ho-Sang is a huge wild card while Aho is a good puck moving dman prospect with top 4 upside.

You want Sergachev? Dobson is coming the other way.

Literally every team in the league comes up with a better offer than that for Sergachev.

i get this, but at the same time the offer posted is more than fair for him. Tampa won't be able to keep everyone

There's no way Calgary loses both D unless Kylington blows them away this year and they decide they don't need them, though that is still unlikely as they both play on the right side and Leddy plays on the left along with Kylington, Giordano, Valimaki, and Hanifan.

Your giving up a B offensive prospect, a B- defensive prospect, a 3rd pairing dman and a mid to low 1st; not going to get it done

Tampa doesn't need nor wants Mayfield and his 1.45M cap hit till 2023, Bellows had a really disappointing AHL season and Salo looks okay.

Tampa won't be able to keep everyone, but I assure you every GM will call BriseBois asking what's the price for Sergy the day Tampa decides to sell him (if that day will come).
Blue chip Dman + 2nd rounder will be the starting price IMO

Gotta watch the isles before you make these assessments

Not happening Dobson>Sergachev. I’d be willing to give Wilde, 1st and Bellows and idk maybe a bit more but not Dobson. Only problem w my offer is I’d think tampa wants NHL talent, not prospects.

I do, I watch a ton of hockey and am knee deep in full keeper fantasy, so I stand by my statement, everyone over values their own players, it's called bias/hope, ask a Leafs fan about Bracco, he's the next Marner... Or Montreal on Domi/Drouin, basically Getzlaf/Perry in their prime...

I feel you I'm just saying like Mayfield in his first year as a regular was a very solid middle pairing guy and is on a gem of a contract, I think Bellows is near a B+ maybe but probably not and Salo is awful. Idk if he's ever gonna make it

He sucks. A lot. Also he always gets injured. Slow bad defensively.
