As much as I love Jay Beagle, the Caps wouldn't take him back unless VAN retained 100% of his salary. They have no cap room for him, and their bottom 6 is set already.

why trade pearson(who had good chemistry with horvat) while retaining just to sign goldobin (who had a hard time getting not the lineup) to only save $750k in salary . then to trade away beagle while giving up a pick when there is a good chance that sutter is going to either be traded or injured so then we don't have anybody besides horvat to take defensive zone faceoffs. horvats play dropped while sutter and beagle were hurt as he had to take every important face off. keep Beagle and Pearson trade Goldobin and maybe Baertschi and you can still send down Schaller and Eriksson to free up cap space and playing time for gaudette and roussell .
