Actually if the kings would send a young forward with doughty it would make the leafs a better team. You might have that devastating attack your defence still suck badly.

Better than what marner will probably get

I don’t think marner will see 11m. Even if he did, paying a 22 yr old 11m x 8yrs after a productive year is much better than paying a 30yr old that money for 8 more years after a **** year.

I’m not sure you watched doughty play last year...

Last year all kings player suck. He is still a top 5 defenseman in the league and he will bounce back this year.

Yes, but in this scenario he is being traded after it. I have never liked long term deals that carry players past 35. Especially 11m.... ouch.

It's Doughty and he isn't going to the leafs. He will be good till he is 40. We'll keep that sexy contract and stay away from your 11 million dollar for 3 years forward or w/e wants.

You may be right......as long as time stops and Doughty magically doesn't age his contract will be great....as long as he turns the clock back 2 seasons as well. You are going to have a really tough time ahead man. LA has been so poorly managed and it's going to take years to get out from under their terrible contracts. Kopitar and Doughty should be traded for anything you can get for them as long as you don't have to retain salary. The longer you wait, and this season could very well be too long, the harder it will be to trade them without having to add to move them. Old players get worse, and LA is a great example of this trend.

Why 10m x 3? Did he sign and I don’t know about it? Last I heard is dubas laughed so hard he peed a bit when Ferris dreamt that up.

Last I heard he wanted the biggest bridge deal in history. It's early yet, give Dubas time. I'm sure he'll cave.

im not suggesting the leafs would take that deal at all, but u really hype up doughtys first bad season ever. he was on an awful team and everyone hated that coach who shall not be named. People really got stop hating on doughty. watch this year then husshhhhhhhh....
