Description
A conservative baseline for 2020.

Yes Spezza may not be back. But the 4th line will be made up of close to leauge min players
No idea about Mikehyev, but I don't see management spending much more that 1.5mil on LW

How would you use the 10mil on 2 D and a backup?

7 for 1 d
2 for another
1 for goalie

Just a few thoughts. Leafs are hoping Mikheyov is a 2m plus player...but we'll see. Goalie: I wonder if the Leafs would ever promote Scott or Woll. No guarantee Andersen is back in the following season, is one or both of the AHL rookies fast tracked to the NHL. Wingers Bracco, Kershov have more upside than Petan and others. Centre..is Brooks NHL ready, I'm doubting if Spezza has two year in him. I'm one of few that think Ceci might have found a home in Toronto. Maybe a good season this year....he wants to remain a Leaf.

I would expect the Leafs to resign Muzzin, since he seems like the more affordable option of him and Barrie. Not sure how things with Ceci plays out. If he has a good year, clearly the Leafs would *try* to bring him back. My take-away from your AGM here is that the Dubas has made a long short-sighted moves, specifically on our defense, and given up a ton of controllable assets to do it. At least if Muzzin gets resigned, it makes things a little better. Also, I am fairly certain that during the 2020-21 season, Leafs will get to see at least minimal NHL auditions from both Hollowell and Lindgren. I am not sure if Leafs fans have paid much attention to Hollowell yet, but that kid can skate and has moves like you wouldn't believe. Hopefully, he can put on some more mass without losing his offensive gifts.

I am thinking only one of Sandin and Lilly will be in the roster, not both because they will have protect both at expansion draft.

Next issue, adding only 1 long term D next year makes sense right now, after this season.
For the same reason.

I prefer a balanced approach overall.

I actually think amoung the young dmen that Sandin, Liljegren, Duszak, Hollowell and Kivihalme are ALL exempt and Dermott and Lindgren will have to be protected. On forward Bracco will need protected and could be lost.

I was wondering if Dermott would be moved and Muzzin re-signed with Sandin coming up the ranks as the 3rd pair dman.
