They woukd restructure the NHL rules somehow after a season of Mcdavid and Kane on the same team

Everyone thought Crosby and Kessell would be fantastic linemates, but it turned out they each play best when they have the puck for more than half of their shift, and they never played very well together, at all.

So it's tough to predict who plays well together. O'Reilly and Barkov are pretty good at taking pucks away from opponents, which is going to give those last two lines an edge. This is a bit like an Yzerman vs. Fedorov debate. There are lots of ways to be good at sports.
