I think the value would be something like Danault + Suzuki + Brook + 1st but Laine is a tough one to gauge - easy to cite his abilities and his inconsistencies.

Room is made by moving Perreault or Kulikov... they don't just say "aw shucks" and lose their top forwards

The thing is the jets dont have enough room for connor and laine at this salary and seem to want laine out... if they match the offer sheet, they can't trade laine for a year...

The other thing is, Bergevin sent an 8.5m OS to CAR for Aho, who is much more valuable than Laine, so I doubt he sacks up with 10+m for Laine at this point.

This is what Winnipeg would love to see but thats over valuing Laine. The trade above is probably the limit that Habs fans would be happy with. Where it would land would be somewhere in between.

But you are right, how do you gauge the value of a guy who wants $10 million, has been the most inconsistent great goal scorer we may have ever seen but doesn't seem to be engaged a lot of the time or care to commit playing a all around game.
