If the Leafs are OK with Risto at 5.4m for three years, it could be a deal. IMO Risto might be well playing on a better team. Leafs would be hoping for a top 8 pick. It's the Sabres the might say no 11.5 even 11m might be too high for Sabres now and in the future.

Its probably too much, i hesitate because i think we still have a fairly large hole/question at center, and im not all for giving up top 10 picks when thats where you find star players. That top 10 pick is probably mid teens if a competent center is brought in. This takes away trade capital and cap space. Also, from a leafs perspective, i believe reinharts agent is looking for 8+ next summer and i bet he plays hard ball- he took 2 years at 3.6 to get the most leverage next year. If you hate marner at 11, im guessing youre not gonna love reinhart at 8.5.

Reinhart, a 3rd line RW at best, one of the worst player statistically in the league last year + a 1st and a 2nd. Reinhart is really the only thing that helps the leafs this year
