Dont want to get faulkd

Created by: Icarus
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 17, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I personally don't want anyone to play for us if they don't want to be here. I think Faulk is an excellent D and would make our blue line instantly better. And I think he would fit in well with our locker room. But if he doesn't want to be here and wants a premium pay out to make it happen, I don't really want him here.
On the other hand, I think Risto really wants to be on a team that wants him. He is a lock for top 4 and extremely comparable to Faulk in a lot of stats. He's spent his career on a struggling team with zero goal tending. I think he would see a huge boost playing with the ducks system and be a great partner lindholm.
Trades
BUF
  1. Larsson, Jacob
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
With the core of Fowler, Manson, Lindholm and now Risto, Mahura or Larsson must be the odd one out. Mahura is 1 year younger and may still have more upside. I think Mahura could be a top 4 guy in 3-4 years where Larsson seems destined to fall short of his potential.

I can see that, but they are honestly pretty stacked on the wing. Skinner, Reinhart, Johansson, Okposo, Sheary, Vesey, Thompson, Larsson etc.
I'd be okay with losing sprong in this trade though. I like sprong a lot, but he's wasted on the 4th line. But he is definitely lower than Silf, Kase, and Terry on the depth chart.

A.. Don't break up Lindholm-Manson... But then again Fowler Risto is ??, and B you say Risto has never had any goaltending... Faulk played in front of Mrazek and McBackup... (Unless you were comparing Hutton to Gibson in which case Gibson>>>>>>>>>>>>x100000000000000 Hutton)

Risto and Fowler could work maybe. But honestly I am going into this with the mindset that anything that were "guarantees" in the last year or two are no longer such. Its a transition period. We're under a new coach, a brand new system, and had a mix-up our forwards. No more Getz and Perry, no more shut down line of cogs/kes/silf. I know Fowler & Manson have had issues previously but who knows next year?
And I wasn't trying to compare Faulk to Risto. I was mostly saying "Ristos numbers look a lot worse without goaltending." Faulk has solid numbers playing in front of Ward, Mrazek and etc.

Don't dislike the trade of the D-pairings (forward line-up is weird though), but I think your valuation of Risto is a little off. You're probably looking at Kase going the other, which I am fine with personally.

The forward line up kind of got based around the popular theme that the Rakell/Steel/Silfverberg line is expected to start the season. At the very least, Rakell and Silf + whatever center. Kase and Terry will fight to be on Getzlafs right wing. I hope Comtois makes it out of camp, but Jones also could own that spot. And I dont see shore and ritchie not in the line up (unfortunately).

I still think Buff would rather see a D or G go back then a forward. But I am fine with Kase going that way as well.

They need a 2C (Mittelstadt has not been doing it for them), but W is also a requirement.
