MTL would probably want Klefbom or Nurse for Drouin.

Also MTL are at 48 contracts so that trade couldn't go through as is.

you're probably right, but about the contracts, I think MTL could send back 1 or 2 AHL cap dumps to even it out. Do you know why Drouin is even in trade talks? I've got no idea

He's in trade talks because he doesn't seem to fit the team identity of hardworking, intense players. He loses a lot of puck battles along the walls and is notoriously inconsistent. He's just not a player the coach feels he can trust all the time.

On the other hand he can singlehandedly win a game for the team with a 4 point game. He's just a frustrating player because of his streaky nature.

My personal opinion is that Bergevin is testing the water seeing how other GMs value him at the moment.
