Description
Claims and trade are from other people's builds.

I'm posting to ask if they make the playoffs.

I think they do because Hickey covers back for Doughty and limits Hutton's minutes to keep him from being minus a billion. Eller pushes Kopitar off the top PK so he has energy for the top power play. Eller and Adrian Kempe (can swap spots. Whatever) push Carter off center, for the same reason. Less defensive responsibility gives the old guys more energy to get points.

If Carter just focuses on setting up Kovalchuk all year, Kovalchuk could score 30 goals this year, on the second line.

I think the team just got depressed after a few bad bounces put them in last place, ten games into last year. I don't think it showed what they're capable of. With so many great players on waivers, a few claims and a little trade or two could put them right back in contention.

Unfortunately I think this team looks okay on paper but just too many declining players. If Carter and Kovalchuk were 10 years younger, absolutely.

If the Kings limp into the playoffs, Rob Blake should be fired. They should do just well enough to show that the veterans still have gas in the tank to boost their trade value, then they need to move them for futures and replace them with placeholders until the kids are ready.

A top 5 overall pick is what this team needs, not projects and busts.

You can have Matt Luff. Wagner and high-round draft picks aren't going anywhere.

Especially after getting robbed of Kappo or Byram last year.

I'm sad about losing out on Kakko, but I would have taken Turcotte over Byram.
