thats a very fair deal for hall. NJ gets an elite prospect in Suzuki and mtl gets to keep thier 2020 first rd pick (the draft is in mtl). i like this

Considering the money Hall is going to make and the potential of Suzuki to grow into an offensive force in the next 2 years, I don't think MTL should do it. IMO

Your Hall trade has an interesting base but i think we need to compare it to the Stone trade and for me it makes more sens this trade:
Hall vs Suzuki, Chicago 2rd 2020 and Weal or another little contract

you are forgetting that you lose Alzner, thats going to take a 1st and with that added cap space Hall's cap doesnt look as big, I 100% do this if im MTL. Honestly might need more considering Alzner and an extension for Hall if im NJ

Alzner have an easy buyout for summer 2020, so not a 1st rd pick. He's not making 6M ... Brannstrom + 2nd got Stone extended, pretty sure Suzuki J.Olofsson ( B prospect, former 2nd round pick ) + 2 high picks is enough, even if Alzner is throw in it

the winnipeg trade is a little much. i don't see winnipeg giving up a 1st for vatanen

there are no "easy buyouts," its dead cap that no team wants to have. You also have to take into account that there are far less players available this deadline compared to last, making those guys' prices go up even more. I think its close and a pretty good trade overall, I just said if Im NJ, Im looking to get something more if im taking on Alzner as well with the amount of teams that will be chomping at the bit to acquire Hall

Not all buyout are the same, look at Alzner buyout via Calculators after go to buyout calculator and look at Alzner 2020 summer buyout and look at Shattenkirk buyout for example. Alzner : 4M 2M 833K 833K Shattenkirk 1.4M 6M 1.433M 1.433M. After the trade you can compare Brannstrom + 2nd vs Stone = Suzuki + 2nd vs Hall but no wait, I throw in a former 2nd round pick in J.Olofsson + a 1st round pick. I over but overpaid, but that's the price for getting Hall (extended) + taking a capdump

yea no no **** sherlock, i know not all buyouts are the same. nothing like some 13 year old that resorts to the good old "you know nothing about hockey" criticism when someone mildly disagrees with their post. I will say that I was thinking of the Olofsson MTL got from Minny a couple years ago rather than the one just recently drafted so with that in mind I think the trade is fair. No need to take it personally like everybody else does on this site if someone disagrees with you...

As a Habs fan I don't hate that deal.
