Why doesn't TOR just trade with NJD for Hall?

If I’m NJ, I’d just take the Toronto deal and cut out the pens as the middle man.

They could but trading for hall and then for Nylander is very economical for the pens

Sure, I’m not disagreeing with that. However, NJ and Toronto aren’t in the business to make it economical for the pens lol.

The temptation to accept that Hornqvist deal just to get him out of the hands of our enemies is indeed strong. But I fear that contract. I really do.

Well he can be a really physical player which would help any team blocking the goalie etc
