Why would you assume Dallas is out of the playoffs? Also, huge overpayment.

Kapanen goes before Johnsson

I was in complete agreement for a long time but recently I've waivered. I think the Leafs have a lot of options on LW, more so than RW. After Kapanen, there isn't a lot of good RW's. On the Left side though you have Kerfoot, Johnsson, Mikheyev, Engval, Moore and Timashov. Sure most aren't top 6 but Mikheyev has proven himself, Moore has been effective and Kerfoot can play centre which helps as well. So I'd move Johnsson if it meant upgrading the goaltending. I've talked about trading Johnsson for Lehner but Hawk fans lose their mind because a top 6 forward isn't enough for a rental. Which it is.

I would definitely prefer Lehner over any other option there is out there from a non-playoff team with a rental goalie. I was going to suggest with their lack of RHD depth that Ceci showing this year that he is an NHL dman that he would be a potential option for them and would give them a chance to re-sign him this summer. Add a draft pick to see if CHI would retain $1 MILLION.

I would then break the bank to try to get another non-playoff team that also needs to start a rebuild to trade Josh Manson. I would include either feisty, fast skating offensive forwards Johnsson or Kerfoot, Leafs top RHD prospect and former 1st first round pick Liljegren plus a high draft pick and add any needed resources to close the deal. I would have Anaheim add LTIR Eaves to save them could, hard cash. That hopefully would seal the deal.

Manson isn't worth half that. He's super overrated on here.
