A lot of Lindholm trades lately

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 4, 2019
Published: Dec. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Ducks aren’t trading him. They’re not subtracting from their core. The west is all over the place right now and they’re only 4 points out of a playoff spot. They need to play meaningful games late in season to help develop the young players they have. They need the core to do that.

It would have to be an absurdly good trade if we were to give up Lindholm. Example: Giroux, Matthews, Barzal, Tavares, Keller, Petterson, Draisitl

I mean, as a ducks fan, I’d love all of that (minus Giroux...on the down swing of his prime years), but it ain’t happening.

So yes, I agree with the OP that Lindholm shouldn’t be traded (nor should Fowler or Manson).

if we had Manson for the past few weeks, are we 2 pts out of the playoffs? In them? Heck, if the Ducks can find a solid top 4 RHD this summer, all of the sudden, they’ve got another year under the belts of Steel, Comtous, Terry, etc., and actually have a solid core moving forward.

If they’re out of it at the deadline, I’d consider moving:
-Silfverberg (unlikely)
-Ritchie (if the price is right)
-Shore
-Mayyyybe Rakell (the price HAS to be right. Don’t sell low on him)
-Larsson or Guhle (If you can do it in a package to get that RHD that’s needed.
-The UFA’s like Del Zotto, Holger, etc, that you’re not getting back much for.

Would just love to watch this squad with a healthy couple of weeks. One of the top 2 goalies on the planet.

They have money to spend in the offseason. I fully expect them on be legit playoff contenders next season. I could see Jones, Ritchie, Guhle and Larsson becoming available if someone’s interested and possibly Henrique or Kase but only for quality return. I think Silfverberg stays long term. But I think for the most part they don’t move anyone this season and then see what’s possible in the offseason and make a couple significant moves whether it’s a UFA or trades and be back in the solid playoff contender category.

Agreed, I don’t think there’ll be a ton of movement.

I love Kase, but I’m going to assume that we probably overvalue him (similar to the Habs and Lehkonen or the Leafs and Kapanen...not saying they’re similar players, just that the situation reminds me of that). I don’t think we can get back enough for him that it’d make it worth it.

Wouldn’t lose my mind if Henrique got moved, but I think, with their cap space, he probably fits in Anaheim better than anywhere else at this point, and the contract isn’t going to do the Ducks any favours if they were to move him.

I can see giving up Shore during the season and maybe Larsson if the price is right (everyone from Severson through Savard to Weegar) but no one else. This is a pretender next year and a contender in 2021-2022. Especially if this team acquires a decent RD in the summer and spends its first three draft picks in June 2020 on RD's.

Shore, Grant, Rowney, Deslauriers, Holzer and MDZ could all be moved but they have little to no value. Maybe even Miller if he wants but doubt it. I think they add a significant piece in the offseason. Maybe 2 and are a playoff team next season and depending on the play of Terry, Steel, Comtois and Jones become pretty serious contenders.

I would hate to see the Ducks move Deslauriers, Grant or Rowney. They have formed as effective a fourth line as one can expect and breaking up that line for the minimal return one of them might bring seems short-sighted to me, because there is no assurance that whoever comes in to replace the departed player will provide an upgrade.
