Fowler

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 10, 2019
Published: Dec. 10, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
"Change is coming in Anaheim, one way or another. While Fowler’s long been part of the Ducks’ cause, his club sits second-last in the West with little chance of making a dent in this season’s playoff picture. With Corey Perry, one of the club’s longest-tenured veterans, leaving Anaheim last summer, it seems clear the Ducks are ready to move on from even their established names at this point.

The 28-year-old Fowler remains one of the team’s top trade chips if they’re hoping to add pieces for the future, with the talented offensive defender having finished above the 30-point plateau five times in his career. He’s got 15 points through 30 games so far in 2019-20, putting him on pace to top 40 for the second time in his NHL tenure."

We're giving up pick(s) because currently we have about a half a dozen prospect of A to A+ Quality ready to make the jump to the NHL alongside our best prospect currently Suzuki. We can afford to go a draft without knowing that when they push out a pending UFA like Tatar , Armia or even a Danault in 1-2 years time we will be getting a plethora of picks back adding up to more then we spent on Fowler . Fowler gives our Youth a chance to grow into the role and not be rushed or altered in their development like Tinordi , Leblanc , Beaulieu Mccarron and Scherbak all were just because we MTL's GM was impatient his first 5 years .

i know people will question the amount but honestly if he can give MTL a top 4 worth a **** its a price i'm willing to pay as long as Price's in net .

Before anyone starts about Suzuki on 4th it should be pointed out the bulk of his offensive production came with Cousins and Thompson . Suzuki's claimed in different interviews that Thompsons been a huge mentor for him this season and helped him adapt to todays new faceoff rules . Best place for him IMO (assuming we want to be in the playoffs )

*Keep in mind the lines below are for a healthy roster*
Trades
1.
ANA
  1. Juulsen, Noah
  2. 2020 1st round pick (MTL)
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
  4. 2020 4th round pick (WPG)
  5. 2021 1st round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-Juulsen's in Laval after an injury sidelined him Fleury stepped up and proved to be far more physically dominating and after Fleury's 10 hit outing vs SJS he's solidified himself in the last remaining NHL RD spot.

Juulsen's used this to his advantage playing top minutes in Laval the past 5 games scoring a couple points but its his defensive ability as a Shot blocker that stood out robbing teams and keeping a Spirited Syacuse Crunch game within reach .

Juulsen's set back cost him his position but he's still a solid player . That being said Fleury's here , Brook gonna be up soon and Weber/Petry arent going anywhere soon .

-Conditional 4th becomes a 2nd if MTL wins the cup in 2020 or 2021
2.
MTL
  1. Yamamoto, Kailer
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
-Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if EDM wins SC with Byron playing 50% of the games or more .

Yamamoto is 2nd /3rd line AHL player with 29 points in 44 and 5 points in 26 NHL games thus far . He's a B or B+ level prospect depending on who you ask and at 5'8 just under 160lbs he'll need a season minimum training with Boullion to pack on enough muscle to play at the NHL in a bottom 6 role .

We will take others i just took Yamamoto because he's not your highest score , biggest player or top prospect on wing.
EDM
  1. Byron, Paul ($1,700,000 retained)
Additional Details:
-Byron @ 1.7m cap over 4 years

EDM gets a Speedy Winger on LW and would be a clear upgrade on either undrafted find in Nygard or Russel. Most importantly he can keep up with Mcdavids speed probably better then anyone outside Drisatl

@ 1.7m for 4 years it gives a cash strapped team a cheap option for depth scoring for a playoff run
3.
MTL
  1. Clifford, Kyle
Additional Details:
Pure Rental with no intention of re-sign so LAK can get a couple picks and re-sign him like we did Plekanec (if they want )

He's being brought in to hit and fight . Our youth has become targets and if we're going to take them into a playoff series where things get rough i wanted a guy who's known for protecting his teammates (but who isnt a goon and can play)
LAK
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (MTL)
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
- Conditional 3rd in 2020 becomes a 2nd round pick if MTL wins SC with Clifford playing 50% or more games

-Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if we re-sign Clifford. (we wont but that doesnt stop people from nit picking )

see this is confusing because ive just got my ass handed to me by the entire group above about me over paying

what do you thinks fair just so i can gage a happy medium for the next time i post about said players ?

Wait I read them too quickly. The Fowler and Clifford trades are terrible for MTL; the Byron trade is terrible for EDM.

the room seems to agree with you on the Fowler /Clifford trades .

Byron on was the only one people didnt seem to hate .

EDM in a cap situation where having Byron for 4 years for 1.7m works for them because as is without injuries they're using undrafted players signed from europe who are producing at 4-5 point pace thus far beside Mcdavid . Byron put that up beside a struggling Kotkanemi and Weal . The real upside though is his speed allows him to keep up with Mcdavid and clean up on a lot of his rebounds from the multitude of breakaways he create's for himself each game .

i know as a habs fan i'd take Byron over Nygard on our roster because in our system i doubt Nygard gets a point .(no true dominant Centers . Danaults a good #2-3 Center but he's a better winger as he gets to use his speed)

again arrogance .

Truth is emotionless and hurts no one .
Manipulative people try wielding it as a weapon when they cant offer anything of note .

You're projecting your hate for MTL onto the situation
unless you show me a post with Fowler having the same hang up i'm not going to assume he share's your prejudice's

you're capable of offering more intelligence in a post then 99% of the people on this site can including myself.
the issue is you've become lazy in your effort this season. before you used to offer why you think something wouldnt work and ontop of it what you think might work .

now its like you got a taste for Quantity in comments over Quality .
i dont block you for that simple reason like i usually do to people offering nothing but conjecture and hearsay .

Lol, i have no prejudice, you just assume that because of my avatar. I grew up in the States but only an hour from Montreal, spent a lot of time there, dated a girl there, love the city. Went to hundreds of games there. Ken Dryden was my favorite as a child.

So which one of us is really assuming and projecting here? ??‍♂️

Option one, option two are a bit better than "decent prospects"

you

i've not altered the way i communicate , you have

you used to offer intelligent thoughts at a high volume .
now you do your best to tell a story and manipulate the situation to avoid offering anything in Context to the subject.
i'll debate a point to the point its almost like beating a dead horse.
you'll ask why anyone should have to debate when you have all the answers .

its a level of Arrogance you only picked up this season .

Did you start sharing an Account with a Spouse ?
because that's what it reminds me of

Lol, have not changed at all, you just don’t like what i have to say apparently. ??‍♂️

Probably less gloomy than i was the last couple years.

It’s funny how you always agree with me when my comments are pro Montreal or telling others the trade is lopsided in favor of the other team. Always against me when it’s the opposite.

Maybe it’s you not me. ??‍♂️

Truth: Fowler has 4 team trade list. Montreal is not on it. He loves SoCal. Sorry that bothers you. Boston is not on it either. If someone pointed that out to me i’d simply agree because it’s true rather than get offended and upset by it. Does not bother me. Guess it does you.

BTW. I’m harder on Bruins fans than I am any other fan base. What really bothers me more than anything else...homerism. Regardless where it comes from. Don’t mind rabid, hardcore fans. I respect that. What i don’t respect are the completely unrealistic ones. Ones that rationality is completely lost on. Hardcore fans....great. Hardcore fanboys....no. And you can’t reason with the irrational.
