Buffalo passes on Stepan . Going to better options cheaper and younger from cap strapped teams

I’m skeptical. The pacific is very close. In three weeks the division could be tipped upside down in the standings and there’s a very good chance of that.

I think its actually more likely Hall signs in AZ. He could potentially retire there, live in Scottsdale very beautiful, plays for a great team with a fantastic future in AZ. I think he most likely will re-sign unless something happens. If I was a player I'd want to go to Arizona. People don't give the state enough credit.

Why would ARI move Goligoski for such a lousy return? He has more points than players such as Dahlin, Giordano, Jones and Slavin... He's having a good season.

ARI shouldn't move him then. He's too good to be given up for scraps.

Money wise yes, the new owner is willing to spend, cap wise it's doable, they'd have to move Goli and another piece to make it fit though

Money wise no.... Arizona could easily ship a contract out. Problem is there contracts were primarily front loaded that they obtained. Most people think that retained money was just for cap reasons but it’s also expenditure. At 73.4m the Yotes are set to break even. Now if they can get by the first round(notice the condition on the pick) and fill their building they can actually turn a profit. Will it be enough to sign Hall at 10m+? Doubtful. Is Hall willing to forgo a signing bonus and sign a contract that isn’t front loaded?

running at the same budget bc he got hired like 3 months ago, and the team was already basically at the cap...

Goligoski is so much an upgrade on Mike Reilly, is caphit is the reason the trade is one for one
