and toronto will 100% say no. there is nothing that would entice them to trade him. pens don't have an elite prospect pool. there is no one in that pool, who when offered, will make a gm look twice. and theres nothing wrong with that tbh. pens have cup rings and playoff series wins instead. but what you're offering isn't enough for mtl to trade gallaghar

No I think the Penguins have a good core for after the Crosby & Malkin era. They have Guentzel & Rust who are elite. Dumoulin is a top pairing defender, Marino has top pair potential. Not to mention they have McCann, Poulin, Legare, Joseph & Addison who are all special talents. They won’t trade any of those guys for Gallagher or Marner, but don’t be surprised if Jim Rutherford pulls off a steal for a top six winger.

i never said the core isn't good. im talking about the prospect pool. and yeah im sure the pens would like a top 6 winger, but it wont be gallaghar or marner

Habs fans are actually the biggest idiots on this site and I don't think there is a close second. If you need more evidence look at the trades they make for Price. They have no concept of trade value in the slightest

To be completely fair, Price's trade value is one of the hardest to judge due to inconsistency and contract size. Whereas for Gallagher, the problem is that he's worth much more to the Habs in intangibles than he's worth to any other team, causing us to overvalue him. Even if he doesn't have the "C" on him, he's the true captain of the team, and makes a huge difference in the team's morale when he's in the lineup. For us, he's not just worth his 62pt pace--it's more than just points.

So there's no point including him in a trade

Yeah that's why I think a Price trade is impossible because obviously he's not playing up to his contract but for sentimental reasons and the fact that his contract is so large means that he'll probably retire as a canadien. He seems to be one of those guys who every other year have a bad year. I want the Penguins to make a run at Danault since he's a free agent in 2 years and you guys have so many centers coming up like Kotkaniemi, Suzuki, Poehling, Domi, etc. It would probably take a lot to get Danault but I think he's one of the best two way centers in the league

Although Danault is very important to the team right now, I don't think he's untouchable. You would need MTL to admit they're not going to win in the next 2 years for such a trade to happen though.
