You really think NYI will trade THAT for Okposo?

Sheary could go to EDM, Pittsburgh doesn't need yet another bottom six forward, they have more than enough (Simon McCann, Tanev, Bjugstad, Blueger, Aston-Reese and I probably forget one more)

If tor pays a first for a buyout is 2 & 3 asking too much with that kinda term

Marleau was a unique situation -- a team which needed cap space and a player who had not only a No Movement Clause but also an over-35 contract. The Islanders are nowhere near the cap ceiling and can have Ladd sit on the LTIR or bury him in the AHL forever without limiting their financial situation. You wouldn't get a third for Okposo even if you took Ladd. Okposo is actually worse for Buffalo than Ladd is for New York.

Jones and Hutton are both second-string goalies, so they are more or less equal, but let's assume for the sake of argument that Goodrow (a roster player) cancels out any difference. What you have left is Ryan Merkley (a first-round pick) and a 2021 first-round pick. If that was Perrealut's market price, Winnipeg would have peddled him for it long ago. Remember that Jacob Trouba brought Winnipeg a first and Neal Pionk (a top-4 defenseman). Trouba is clearly a more valuable player than Perreault but even if he weren't, Winnipeg would be happy to get that return for him.

This is the worst sharks trade I’ve seen in a while. Sharks are not trading Merkley or a first unless you giving up a top forward prospect
