Younger goalies are worth less because it takes more time, development and maturing to become just an NHL backup, being starter in the NHL? Another story.

This is why we are seeing goalies being picked less and less in the first round. They are a crap shoot and most of the time only getting a backup.

I think you're confusing goalie prospects with goalies who have demonstrated multiple seasons of success in the NHL...

Goalie prospects are indeed a crapshoot and they shouldn't be drafted in the 1st. Goalies who have demonstrated legit success in the NHL over multiple seasons are highly valued assets because succeeding in the NHL over multiple seasons where you have 30+ starts is remarkably repeatable. And the younger you demonstrate multiple seasons of NHL success, the better you are perceived because you have a longer time until your body breaks down so your peak is longer and contractually your team control is longer. .

No.
Right now Georgiev is just a backup. NYR would have him starting way more games if he was. If he's that good why trade him?
Trade the other kid.

He's literally started 1 less game than Lundqvist. Is Lundqvist a backup goalie? hahahahahahaha

Rangers have an embarrassment of riches at goaltender. They'd most likely trade Lundqvist if they could. But he has a full NMC and doesn't want to leave NY so he's going to retire a Ranger most likely. And Shestyerkin doesn't have enough of an NHL resume' to demand what he's worth in a trade and he has a KHL out clause so he'll just go back to Russia if Rangers try to do a 3 goalie lineup. So they're going to trade Georgiev. But they don't HAVE to. That's why they're holding out til they get a ridiculous offer.

Johnsson's also a 25 year old who's played over 60% of his minutes with Auston Matthews over the past 2 seasons and has yet to eclipse a 48 point pace.... or better said: He's a poor man's Ryan Strome at this point who's just about at his development peak.

Ya good points, however still more valuable that Georgeiv.

Then you keep him if he's so valuable and stop trying to trade him. Have you noticed that Leaf fans aren't trying to trade Johnsson or Kapanen but Ranger fans are desperately trying to trade this so-called valuable goalie? FYI, Did you know that 2 years ago the Marlies won the Calder Cup and that Johnsson was the MVP of the entire AHL playoffs... additionally, this is only his second full season in the NHL and BTW last year he was not paired with Matthews.

Great we'll keep him.

But I mean you should get your facts straight.

...Johnsson spent 49% of his Ice Time last year with Matthews.

https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/spider/1819/TOR/johnsan94

20% more than any other Forward. This year that number is 85%.

I bleed blue, I don't need some unverified (.com) stats metic to know what I know. FYI, I drove from Winnipeg to Toronto to watch game 6 and 7 of the Marlies cup final. Johnsson is no throw-away player and Georgeiv is no more than a gamble to us. Media might be hyping this goalie a little to much... hey if your set on Johnsson we might consider Shesterkin. Intererested?
