The Clifford and Lewis deals are basically to any playoff team. Depth for a run. I'm not too concerned where a 4th and 5th are placed in the round.

That Edmonton trade is pretty terrible for the Kings. They trade their two best trade chips (with significant retention i might add) for an overpaid defenseman, a disgruntled prospect, and a slightly upgraded draft pick (essentially from approx 64th overall to approx 50 overall)?

Remove Alec Martinez and the 3rd round pick going to Edmonton, and add a condition that the 2nd upgrades to a 1st if Toffoli re-signs in Edmonton and the Kings might consider that.

Kings want at least a second and a good prospect for both Toffoli and Martinez. Russell isn't equal to a second and a prospect and the most Los Angeles would pay for him is about a fifth because they're interested in youth or economy, and Russell is a not-inexpensive veteran. Including that third is just out of the question for a rebuilding team.
