Description
Manson- I think he's the best option out there that fits the Leafs. He has term, 4.1mil and fits the more physical / shutdown mold. Return: I'm a big advocate for moving Johnsson over Kapanen. The LW TML depth is Hyman, SOUP, Engvall, Moore, Kerfoot, Timashov. I think that Johnsson is the odd-man-out. I also don't really want to give up Kapanen I think he has more long-term upside over Johnsson and his speed and PK work are things I prize. I think the add of Hollowell (a B d prospect) and all the picks is worthy value. The 6+7 are for taking Ceci. So I'd consider the return for Manson as Johnsson, Hollowell, 2nd + 2nd. I think that's relatively fair, but I'm sure someone will disagree with me.

Stalock- I like Stalock as a sleeper-option for backup. MIN fans on here keep telling me they want right shooting forwards so how about Bracco who is ready for an NHL shot and I think could be an alright 3rd liner with the ability to play higher up if needed. Kaskisuo is a decent goalie prospect and a 4th. Again I think this is relatively fair value.

I actually think the Leafs are better to stick with Ceci than trade for Josh Manson. Think Leafs should just run with existing team for this year to evaluate all players and then make required changes in off-season.

Unless someone with a deep defence has trouble scoring and are okay with overpaying for a scoring winger.

Overpay from the leafs perspective, I'm just getting this out of the way first, so everyone reads it, but ANA rejects, that done really need Johnsson, he's a nice piece yes, but not a game (well trade) changing we definitely wanted/needed a guy like him, and the picks are nice, but won't be ready for years, if we even take an RHD with them, and we have no interest in a bottom pairing upside project d man in Hollowell
