We need this guy

Created by: Daredevil514
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2020
Published: Jan. 31, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I saw some rumors that Anderson was available, it's probably trash since his value is as low as it can get but let's give it a shot!

Let me know about value in this trade so we can work something out

My fellows habs fan will probably throw rocks at me for trading Poehling. I get it, I also want to give him time, he could probably be some kind of Anderson type player himslef but for the purpose of this trade, I think CBJ need LW and C depth ready to compete now and at center, Poehling is our only expendable asset with some kind of value!

As for Anderson, Its not fair to look at his stats this year if you disagree with the trade because he got injured and didn't get the icetime he could benefit here, if he can be the player he was those 3 last years then I think it's worth giving up those guys. He's big, fast enough, he plays hard, great shot, hit hard and isnt scared to go in traffic. The only player kind of similar in MTL is Armia, we need more of it!
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
Anderson sign 4x4
2.
MTL
Any team ready to give us a 2nd OR a 3rd.
We then try to sign him if the price is reasonable this summer since he likes it here, good for young players and he can put some points on the board.

Anderson have sucked this year. You don't want to pay that much for him, in money or in value.

This is why I took time to write in description why I think its not fair to analyse only this year

crap a rare occasion that someone makes a MTL thread and overpays...

This would have been the package LAST year to get Anderson... this year maybe Weal and a 2nd?

Last year he got carried by Panarin...this year shows it pretty clearly. He's a 3rd liner tops, shouldn't pay top dollar for that. He might have suffered some injuries, but he was bad even before them.

If you judge his career only with this year then yes it could be enough but let's be real, A 25 years old, 20goal power foward capable of everything on the ice is worth more than that! Last year CBJ would have refused this package Im pretty sure. Weal has basically 0 value and CBJ compete for a playoff run right now so a 2nd wont help them with that.
Maybe you are right about the overpayment, there is no good answer on this site anyway but your counter offer doesnt cut it IMO

Panarin wasnt playing with PLD and atkinson? From what I remember when we played them he wasnt with those with panarin but I could be wrong

Alright. I typically do laugh at how drastically MTL overevaluates their players. I like that your offer is a bit more back on earth.

Still, someone who drops off a cliff this badly is not making equivalent value. Having a down season (give or take 20% worse of a season) might not drastically affect the value, but Anderson might not even hit 20.
You don't pay this type of package for a 20... 30... even 40 point player. I get why MTL may need an Anderson type player, in fact they would need to overpay to pry him out, but not this drastically.

If not my original offer, maybe Ikonen and a pick.

I agree about MTL fans hehe! I see so much of bad trade value wise because we tend to mix emotions with logic when talking about our players (see Carey Price trade to colorado, they are so awful).
Back to the trade, let's say poehling is out of the question, Ikonen had 2 maaaaajor injury in two years, I dont think any team is interested! How about Ylonen a 2nd? Still doesnt help the CBJ playoff push tho, maybe Lehkonen and Ylonen or Lehkonen and a 2nd?

I’m right, Bergevin loves Lehkonen and wouldn’t trade him for 2 2nd round picks and Anderson value right now is a 2nd + late pick

Where I agree they won't use Lehkonen in this trade (it doesn't make sense), he is perhaps the most overrated Hab. Lehkonen and Anderson are closer in value than Habs fans want to acknowledge.
