I could deal with Hamonic since we’ve got no one else for the right side, but IMO Samberg/Heinola should both be ready and one of those two should be take that spot. Even if they’re not, I’d sign a cheaper guy for 1 year.

I’d be willing to overpay a Hamonic type. Just not two of them

Heinola has 1 point in 16 games in liiga, and samberg is currently playing at a level significantly below even AHL level. There's a very real chance both start with the moose next year.

Is Edmundson twice as good as sbisa/beaulieu, just wondering if spending 2 million on two guys better than 4 million on one, Chevy loves his discount shopping 5/8 dman, so doubt 4 million in the budget over a underachieving rookie battling a cheap vet for 5/8, but this year may change his stance a little.

Heinola's point production with the Jets was 5 points in 8 games, that's not bad...

I like Hamonic but the Jets should avoid him, if they can get Edmunson for something less than $4M fine but anymore would be too much, I'd rather just see Beaulieu and Sbisa brought back then overpay guys that aren't much better if they even are.

NHL history is littered with players who got lots of points in a very small amount of games, that when given a bigger role regress to their actual ability. All of his assists were secondary assists scored by players in the jets top 6. Combining that with 60% Ozone starts simply means he was put in every position to succeed, playing with the best players and not having to constantly battle in his own zone. With all that, he managed to barely pulled out a positive corsi and currently has negative fenwick. He wasn't playing near an NHL level then, which is why he went back to liiga. Now in liiga he's showing what happens when they give him a bigger role against men for more than a few games. He's still 18 and I believe he's going to become an amazing player, but his development shouldn't be rushed because he looked good in a sheltered role for a few games. He won't be ready for next year and he shouldn't be expected to, he's a 20th overall defensemen born in 2001. GIve him the years he needs and he can be a stud in the NHL by age 21-22 like most defensemen's development curve.

Meh, I think he'll be ready next season.
