Oilers don't have a 3rd rounder, it's going to Calgary in the Neal-Lucic trade.

Also why would they break up the hottest line in hockey?

If CAR is trading Dzingel, I think that would be very smart of EDM to jump on that. Could play 3rd or 1st line, helps their depth, relatively cheap to trade for I would think, reasonable salary, and has 1 more year after this. I think he could do very well in EDM. Underrated trade target.

Why is CAR trading Dzingel and why does EDM make that trade with OTT? And frankly i don't think at this point adding Simmonds moves that needle for a team cruising towards the playoffs.
A top 6 winger to play with McDavid is the play imo but not at the expense of overpaying tenfold, you are essentially offering what EDM offered NJ for Hall and in what world would a GM who "needs to smarten up" offer that package for Connor Brown...... JP + 3rd rounder for Brown at most
