Yamo and Kulak Out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KrakBirds23</b></div><div>Then why move him? As the proposing team it sounds like what is being said is a second round pick and low cost veterans are more valuable then him on your roster. You move him because you need to re-sign Bouch and McLeod and I'd personally like to see Bjustad and Kostin stick around with raises.

Oilers Deadline Deals
Really? What would it take to get Varlamov in addition to Koskinen?
Yamo to Kraken has huge upside for them, plus he's from WA they'd love that.
Chiarot I have no idea, but I don't see them getting a first. Habs definitely need a PP QB.

Buyout Neal Trade for AA Sign Haula

Buyouts aren't my favourite either, but the Oilers need to be in win now mode next year. If Neal prevents them from giving McD a prime winger that's a damn shame.

Buyout Neal Sign Hall

So you think Neal is a pretty hot commodity then? Because he scored 20+ goals many times in his career? How many goals do you think he'll score in the final 3 years of his deal?
Why would any team give up a pick for Neal at 3.8M x 3 when they could just go grab a younger, better player like Leivo or Fast for less and give up nothing?

You really think a team will give us a pick for Neal at 33% retained? I watch every Oilers game and Neal isn't your average 20+ goal scorer. Useless 5x5, slow, drags linemates down. He's purely a PP producer now.
You're also proposing that Neal will CONTINUE to score 20+ goals for the phantom team trading for him. Ain't gonna happen.
Best case scenario is we trick Seattle into taking him, but that'll take a miracle.

Oilers don't have a 3rd rounder, it's going to Calgary in the Neal-Lucic trade.
Also why would they break up the hottest line in hockey?

Fair enough. If you can find a taker for Neal who'll send a pick back that's like finding Willy Wonka's golden wrapper. My thinking is that no team would do that, but I'd love to be wrong!

I think Tierney is a good 3C. He makes 3 now, how much do you expect him to sign for? Less? No chance a 3C returns Bear.

Who are you getting back in a Neal trade though? Another cap anchor most likley. I don't like buyouts but this gives you the ability to sign Hall to a competitive contract.

Not optimal, but I've saved another 800k in case there is a decent backup in the 1.5M range.

I would love a trade for Neal but I can't imagine one that gives the Oilers 3.83M savings per year on the cap.
The other option is hoping Seattle takes him, but that's another whole season away...

Holland is a pretty conservative guy. Can't see any massive moves.
Russell for Eakin. Vegas wants help on D and the Oil need a 3C. Eakin is a UFA which is nice. Benning returns and Tippett runs Jones - Benning as a decent third pairing.
Patrick Russell down, Tyler Benson up.

I really hope BurgerBoss is actually Brad Treliving, and that Hall ends up in Calgary on a 7 year, 77 milion dollar deal.

Only interested in Hall if he takes the Drai contract. If not, move on.
Tierney is the 3C they desperately need. This trade was tough to gauge.
Francouz is a capable backup.

Hall back
Hall for Puljujarvi, Lagesson, 2nd and Gags (cap). Tried to recreate something similar to Stone deal.
Hall gets Drai money, no more if he wants to come back.
Bear gets the Brandon Carlo deal.
Nurse gets the Morrissey deal.
Kass perhaps an overpay at 3.25M.
Smith back, although that could be a cheaper backup.
K Russell, Benning, Chiasson all gone to make room.
