That's ridiculous. He's the second best 5v4 goal-scorer in the league, let him play in the bottom-6 at 5v5 and retain the PP weapon. At the very least, you shouldn't be trading prime assets to get rid of a player who can help the team win, even if he is overpaid.

I think it’s a fair trade. Especially if you’re getting rid up Neal and chiasson

I don't. Johnsson is having a really bad season. Kapanen? Sure. But not Johnsson.

It means MOVING Neal and Chaisson
Also Johnsson is at .51 ppg this season while being injured for a stretch and thrown all over the line up, Kapenen is .56 ppg while steadily playing with the same trio

I don't think Johnsson can replace either of those guys on the PP.

Johnsson hasn't been "thrown all over the lineup" at all, he's spent 77% of his 5v5 TOI with Matthews and 85% of his 5v4 TOI with Matthews. Ergo, QoT is way, WAY higher for Johnsson, yet his results are worse than Kapanen's.

Here are their 5v5 production rates this year:

Kapanen: 0.70 G/60 ... 2.00 P/60
Johnsson: 0.33 G/60 ... 1.53 P/60

I’ve been over this before. Johnsson isn’t carried by Matthews. He never really was. That’s why he was moved down the lineup. Hyman is a much better helper that way.

He is a solid 40-50 point guy on a third line. Doesn’t do any pk but is tenacious on the puck and makes good decisions. In your top 6 he could probably do even better.

For sure having a down year but isn’t Larsson as well? I said something around those two. Even if it’s balanced with picks and prospects. I think Bracco is another guy that the oilers should take a look at. He won’t play any defence but his skill level is very high.

Kid I watch every game and I mean every game, I know exactly who Johnsson is playing with and who he is not playing with. Also Oilers have a need for a LW over a RW

I wonder if Hall would actually re-sign with the oilers....

I think Toronto would entertain the idea of adding Larsson but I don't think he's worth Johnsson and definitely not worth Kapanen. If Toronto is desperate then maybe 1 for 1 trade would happen but, let's face it, Larsson isn't that good. As a Calgary fan I've been watching the series this year and he doesn't stand out to me. You can take that with a grain of salt if you like as I may be biased a little....

It's not biased at all, claiming is Larsson is a top pair Dman because the oil use him in that role is like calling Buffalo hey Botts you want a top 6 F for Risto here's Kassian

Fans of eastern teams don’t watch a lot of western games. Hence the Manson=Pesce idea.
