Offers for Max Domi

Created by: GMs
Initial Creation Date: Feb 13, 2020

Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Team Explanation
Max Domi doesn’t want to play LW and want to stick at center. Montreal already have Danault Suzuki Kotkaniemi and Poehling for centers, since we only got Drouin Tatar Lehkonen Byron as LW and Teasdale is the only LW prospect, a big LW prospect would be the target for Domi. Make your offers

Good trade, but I rather extend Petry ( even if he’s older ) and keep Weber Petry for the top4 Right side

Without Leddy? I'd consider that (and probbbbbably accept)

I'm really liking what I've seen from Bellows in his small sample size. He puts pucks on net. It seems so obvious to say, but the Isles have struggled in that department.

Jack Roslovic, Logan Stanley, and a conditional 2nd from the jets? 2nd becomes first if domi resigns?

Would have to be a 2021 first though since it’s conditional on domi signing

that's actually a very good, and very realistic offer. top 10 protect the 1st and make it Domi and a sub par prospect and its pretty close to a good deal for both sides

I’m uneasy about paying Sam 7.5 long term because that’s the minimum he should ask for after watching skinner get 9. And imo he’s better than skinner. I like the player but idk how we can balance that team.

Long term

He has less leverage than skinner had. Hes also 4 years younger so no need to be concerned at all

Sure but eventually he’s getting paid sometime before he turns into a UFA. If he gets under 7 for any contract more than 3 years I’ll be shocked. I like what he brings to the table but I don’t like it for that money tbh.

NYI fans are a year behind the curve
When Jo Benn was our only top 4 D , yeah we were desperate.

Chiarot's changed that and even if he hadnt we'd never be desperate enough to take leddy
Especially given he's one of the CHI guys MB didnt help bring into the league like Shaw or Danault

Leddy's a great #6 D on a contender playing 18 minutes or under but he's always the weak link on the team .
CHI had to play 5 D over 21 minutes to win a cup with him and after losing their defense of the title they made sure to move Leddy for absolutely nothing before
their next playoff run when they'd choose to play 4 D 23-31 minutes rather then Carry the only player on their last cup run with turnovers out the ying yang and a team leading -8 with a fraction of the playing time .

Its like MTL trying to chuck in Scandella , no one seriously expects any team to be a contender with that guy on your roster .
but as far as being a regular role player on a non playoff team he's fine .

Domi ,Lehkonen , 1st in 2020 top 10 protected and a 2nd 2021 Conditional (MTL wins a playoff round w/ Dumba playing 50% or more by 2021 draft)

Dumba and Foligno

Immediately MTL gives him #55 and Dumba55 Jerseys set a single day sale record :P

I once had a Jets fan say he'd do this trade Roslovic, Vesalainen, Niku, and a 2nd for Danault and Petry and I think if you put Domi instead of Danault and replace Petry with Juulsen or Brooks and upgrade the 2nd to a first it's still pretty fair and if not just remove Niku then it's fair I would think

you're a contender now right?
literally since the instance NYI became one i've seen Islanders fans trying to move Leddy.

on a non playoff team he's top 4 no doubt
on a SC winning team the Fact as shown by the amount CHI gave him away for is that Leddy's not the player you want on a Contending team because he's the weak link teams target in match ups .

i mean not a single piece CHI got amounted to anything and were more or less fodder .
The only NHL Regular in the bunch was Anderson Nillson a career journeyman back up goalie as Brennan was a bust as was Pokka

it would be like offering STL Dal Colle , Ho-sang and Coreau for Colton Parayko
it doesnt make sense for a Contender to do unless they felt he was the weak link

He's a Markov not a Keith
Good regular season player
Doesnt do crap in the playoffs .
i'll give Leddy this over Markov , he doesnt score goals on his own goalie hahaha

I mean i loved Markov but even in his Prime on CHI he'd have been nothing more then a bottom pair 6th D.
Largely because he crumbles and doesnt apply pressure when things get physical .
Every BOS game guaranteed Markov would no show because its a playoff enviroment he couldnt have with even as a top 4 D on a bottom 10 team in the league.

so its nothing personal its just Leddy's kind of a flake

2/3 prospects dont look like they'll ever hit their full potential .
then again same was said about Armia when they gave him away to us to buyout Mason
