Blues dont give up Sundqvist for Dillon. Sundqvist is one of those players who plays hard and you dont realize how important he is to the team until he's gone. He made a huge difference on Sunday's game in Nashville despite the Blues still losing.

Exactly what in return some team is getting for Dillon. Someone who will play 20 minutes a night on a top d pairing. I would argue Blues are already in decline at D. This helps both teams.

We will see. Some team is going to panic and drive the cost up for Dillon. Happens every year doesnt it?

Take out Sundqvist and we have a deal. I like Dillon but I wouldn't trade Sunny. I get the "everyone is overpaying" trend but this ain't it.

Its not a overpay if that is what the market is. Especially since the Blues maybe needing Dillon a whole lot now. By the time DIllon gets traded this might seem like nothing considering the desperation out there for D.

We aren't "some team" and Army doesn't panic. You're not getting anywhere near Sundqvist for 3 months of Dillon, let alone with a 2020 2nd. It's thoroughly delusional.

It's a massive overpay, who are you kidding? And how in the world do you imagine this "the market" for an expiring one-dimensional D? Good grief.

Its what you have to do win. You trade forward depth and pick for a blue line help now. Especially if Martinez gets dealt you almost have to settle for Mikkola if you lose out on Dillon.

That's funny, we won the Cup last year without any such nonsense. And "settling" for Mikko is just fine. And we'd likely rather have Scandella than Dillon or Martinez anyway.

If Scandella is gonna cost us a 5th rounder, 1000% yes that should be the move.

Wait, what? I just saw this post and thanks for the laugh. We have two guys with multiple All-Star appearances (Petro & Faulk), then two high value guys at or near their prime that EVERY team would die to have (Colt55 & Dunn), plus a dirt cheap dependable hard man that isn't a clunker moving the puck (Bortz), plus a solid guy in Gunny, an NHL-ready shutdown guy with great size, smarts and skating ability (Mikkola), and then two nearly ready B-ish prospects (Reinke & Walman), a few veteran emergency options in the A and then two good yet-to-be-signed prospects, including one with definite top 4 potential (Perunovich) and one who's a bruiser with decent puck skills (Tucker). Five of the first six guys mentioned just did their parts to win the Cup. Where is this great decline exactly? And how would three months of Dillon help that?

Dude... you're not getting anything resembling Sunny for this. He's a 25 yo, 15-20 goal, PK and forecheck ace that skates well and plays smart signed to a bargain deal until 2023. Get a grip, buddy.

It's an overpay for a rental d-man who is a number 4 guy. Sundqvist will not be involved in any deal for a rental player.

This is a very poor take.

I like Dillon but like others have said, this price is too high. The market can be where it's at, but I would much rather the Blues just sit out.
