only way I would send kreider to isles

Created by: Spanky227

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
honestly islanders are NYR worst enemy. We saw how trades like this could happen when rangers made the devils overpay for grabner (lol paying a 2nd and rykov).

I wouldn't help the islanders unless it's a complete landslide win for the NYR-- understandable that isles fans wouldn't want the proposed deal-- it's an insane price. Right now it looks like they are bargain hunting. If this is the price set for kreider they will prob go for Tatar or Pageau, but who else would be traded really... if they miss on those two they may have to look towards kreider (the trade below is insane i know)
Trades
NYR
  1. Wahlstrom, Oliver
  2. 2020 1st round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
1st is conditional on kreider resigning or islanders making the conference finals

It was a reach of a pick at the time

1) If Namestnikov wasn't on the opening night roster (if he was traded during summer or camp) Kravtsov would have made the team - he really deserved it over Namestnikov but the rangers had to try and up his value to trade. Still think he should be playing over Mckegg and Haley but at the same time you don't want him playing fourth line minutes when he could be playing 18-20 minutes a night in hartford.
2) Kravtsov has 11 points in 29 games, Wahlstrom has 15 in 35 -- not too different (see #3)
3) Kravtsov had to adjust to North America while Wahlstrom didn't-- i'll take the guy with a harder journey producing at a similar rate
4) Kravtsov has improved his game as of late and has 6 points in his last 10 games. He's starting to heat up, lets see what he can do when the fire starts

Kravtsov was listed as the number 1 drafted prospect by Button in 2019. He definitely stumbled a bit this year but it's not an easy adjustment for a 19 year old. That's what most college freshman are, so imagine being that age and needing to learn a new language, play on a different sized rink, and actually learn a system than the free style that the KHL is. He has the talent 110%, just needed to learn a little bit in terms of structure. Once he puts it together the rangers have a top 6 forward in him.

And then you have Josh Norris putting up 55pts in 50 games in his rookie season in the AHL and not cracking any top prospects list. So, I dont think points matter that much I guess

How are the Isles are the worse enemy this season? Rangers just gotta get the best return for Kreider...period. And unlikely the Isles will make it past the first round or certainly the second round.

not this season, just in general.. and I agree-- i think colorado is the destination with Kadri, Rantanen and Grubauer out. Rangers have Strome, Kreider and Georgiev/Lundqvist available so there could be a potential blockbuster-- only thing is everyone knows how much of a pr1ck sakic can be so it makes me nervous on the return

i think he meant that it is unlikely they beat the teams above them... they did sweep pitsburgh last year but idk how they would fair against a team like washington or the team that swept them last year, carolina

OK if you think the Isles are getting past Washington and Pens or the Bruins or Tampa...then make the trade.

take note that players go up and down this list like crazy-- last year kravtsov was 1 and this year he is 36 & denisenko was 2, while Makar was 3, last year lias andersson was 28th

i take all these rankings with a grain of salt. when this came out, rangers fans thought they had the second coming of Bure or Kucherov when realistically they have more of a 2a, 1b type of player whose ceiling is probably that of Kuznetsov
