Blake Coleman is also having a very good year, cost less and comes with an extra 365 days attached. There is a massive difference between 42 days and 410 days

Pageau wont get more than Zuccarello did.

Tampa also had those assets to spare. Not saying it wasn't an overpay, but it made it a lot harder for teams in their division, like Boston, to acquire someone of similar talent or better.

Pageau will get a prospect and a 2nd with conditions. IF there is a bidding war, the first team to offer a 1st is going to land him.

The league has quickly become a sellers market instead of a buyers. There are a lot more teams dropping out of the race right now then trying to find a piece to stay in it. If Ottawa's price is too high (which seems to be the case right now) GM's will go somewhere else. But if teams are calling to pick him up for the 3rd line (which will be most) they arent shipping out a 1st and an A prospect
