From a MTL fan, the future is bright for Ottawa but unless all of those young stud have some vet and leadership to learn from, you will be the next Edmonton/ Buffalo. The worst way to build a team is by giving everything on a silver plater to young unexperienced players as good as they are.

White is ok but he doesnt have a specific skillset that makes him really good or elite. Hes average at everything really so hes probably a 3rd liner

He's 21-22. He'll be fine. Remember, he has been injured, and has been battling said injury, for most of this season and put on a different line almost every night. When you're put on a line with Sabourin and Boedker, are you really going to score a lot of goals or put up points? If he does end being a 3C, that contract isn't that bad all things considered.

The one thing I will give Ottawa, compared to Buffalo, is that they have young players with amazing leadership skills (e.g. Tkachuk and Chabot). Buffalo seems to have a very cancerous room.

I think Ottawa is doing it the right - keeping the majority of their prospects in the minors and letting grow and develop together in a very positive and winning environment.

But who knows, really hope they don't end like EDM or Buff.

Edmonton have 2 superstars but not much depth. Ottawa has a lot of prospects that will be real good as depth players. Theres no fear imo. Theres also making sure they dont re-sign the wrong players to long term contracts

True they seem to do it the right way! I still think any coaching staff can teach maybe 50% of what it takes to be sucessfull (system, defensive read etc) but real lessons like how to be professionnal or details like if I do that, it means you have to go here (bench talk). And its true that guys like Tkatchuk and Chabot have some good leadership but it shouldnt be up to them to deal with lockeroom tension, bad loss streak, teaching the kids etc at only 21 and 23 years old. They need help. Doesnt have to be star players but guys like Nate Thompson, Kyle Clifford, Par Maroon. IT takes winners tout teach how to win!

It would be nice to have solid veterans such as Marchand, Justin Williams etc who produce and not veterans like Hainsey, Anderson etc who shouldnt be in the lineup

True but any player who did what it takes to have a long career by working hard can do a good job!
