Description

MB said at his post-deadline press conference that he was able to keep the core together and he thinks this is what the team needs to compete next season.

This core has been together for years, and has been going downhill. Time to mix it up.

Notes:
- Let Newhook play a year in Laval first to develop. Don't rush him.
- Sign Lehner to a 2 year deal with the excess cap space to give Price a real goalie to back him up. Ideally more of a tandem situation. This will give Primeau time to develop in the AHL before making the full-time jump to the NHL.
- Bring Caufield to the NHL only if committed to playing him in the top 6. If not, let him play top line in Laval.
- Big piece in free agency is Pietrangelo. He is young enough that he can be the top pairing D man for this team for the next 4-5 years. This will let Weber play a bit less minutes and give time for D like Brook, Norlinder, etc. to develop.
