Opening Night on a Budget D Shakeup

Description
Just read that if the Panthers don't make playoffs, they'll need to trim down payroll which I think is unfortunate because they should take advantage of Barkov and Huberdeau on absolute steals. Heard Tallon is looking to shake up the D core, he also has some important decisions regarding his forward depth. He still would have $5M for a guy like Toffolli or to keep Hoffman. Thinking they could have interest in Galchenyuk, easily has skill to be in the the top 9, let's see if Coach Q can turn his career around. Could be a mainstay in Top 6 my season's end if he wants to work hard. Hoping Tippett can make an impact in the Top 9 as well. Added Bouwmeester (let's hope for a full recovery and he can come back to the game if he chooses to), would be a great calm presence in the bottom pair. I also think Priskie from Trocheck trade can play in the NHL next year.Broke down the big trade below.

- Hanifin + Condtional 3rd for Matheson+ Weegar+ Borgstrom +2nd
Not really to sure on the value can honestly add a 1st to it if needed, but I did my best. Hanifin has had a difficult season but he's still extremely young, and pairing him beside Ekblad could be the way to change the look for Florida's D. Matheson's career looked promising as a Top 4, but the 2018 Petersson incident really changed his game for the worst. He needs a change of scenery because no way he can keep playing like this for the next 6 years. He could definitely still turn it around and be a solid 3-5D. With the amount of D Calgary is losing, they can also add Weegar who is a solid D, seems to be late-bloomer and who I think still has untapped potential. Also add Borgstrom to Calgary's system who was a highly considered prospect but hislast 2 pro seasons haven't gone as planned.

I’d rather keep weegar. He’s one of our better guys. And maybe haula signs for cheap as he’s had a down year. And I doubt jbo plays again.

Galchenyuk isn't gonna be so cheap if he keeps playing the way he is in Minnesota

For a 2 year bridge probably around $3M. Useful defensively, and a nice PP option.

Agreed was thinking Haula could resign, depends who's looking for a middle 6 centre July 1. Give Wallmark a year or two, he'll look great behind Barkov. Health comes first, Jbo had a great career. If not, maybe they'll need to find some bottom pairing LHD- Hutton, Edmunson (could be a little rich)

Tough question, the market is difficult to read but, looking at the way D were going at the deadline and considering he's an RFA. Would probably be able to get at least a 2nd rounder+ some other picks for him straight up.

First overall. But for real hopefully a young ld who could fill in in a year or two would probably be my guess and some kind of pick
