If you have to add a 6th it probably means the trade is unrealistic and not really close in value

I'm not talking specifically about this trade or Drouin's trade history but more a rule of thumb. If you add a 5th or 6th to a trade you are acknowledging that the player(s) you are receiving is more valuable but the late pick likely isnt the difference maker

Yeah you're not getting Girard for Drouin, According to Sakic he's pretty much untouchable right now.

Personally I wouldnt trade girard for drouin, or most avs players for drouin

I value your opinion so here's a question : What about Domi?

Firstly, domi has a superior all around game with grit than drouin and has much more value. I would be willing to trade for domi in the offseason but I dont think I would be okay with his cost...
As an avs fan I want them to keep their young D core together as long as possible so i would say girard, maker, byram, timmins, and graves would be a non-starter, and I would say none of their cost controlled forwards except jost or donskoi... which leaves little that MTL would be willing to accept.
My biggest issue for a domi trade would be the cost of players and then the cost it takes to resign him.
I honestly feel that colorado should leave their team the way it is next with a few free agent tweaks
