The big question mark is whether the NHL ends up shutting out fans in the coming weeks or into the playoffs so they play in empty stadiums. If they lose that revenue, they may reconsider the salary cap - or it will likely be the low end of the estimation, so $84m. I don't see it likely that it sits at $88m come next season.

Let's not forget that all of these guys said the cap was going to be $84 million last year and it ended up being $81.5 at the last minute, and they didn't actually decide until after the draft which screwed up a lot of movement anyway because teams didn't know what the final number was going to be. Don't get your hopes up that it goes to the high end.

But if it does, Pietrangelo is staying with Blues anyway
